Mar Llorens Gámez has participated in the i-days UPV, the health hakaton from EIT Health, a‘knowledge and innovation community’ (KIC) of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) .

The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) held, with the help of EIT-Health and with the support of the Conselleria d'Economia Sostenible, Sectors Productius, Comerç i Treball, the conference corresponding to the Innovation Days 2020 (i-Days) within of the program that includes appointments in 22 countries throughoutT Europe, where it seeks to promote innovation and entrepreneurship through innovative solutions to real challenges in the health sector.

The 2020 edition of the i-Days takes place in 22 European countries and is held in 36 different venues, prestigious universities and organizations. The winners of each of the venues, including the Valencian team, will participate in a two-week program in which they will receive training and support from EIT Health, as well as the final winners event on the next 4 December , in which the best international proposal will be awarded.

The event took place with the ' hackathon ' format , using as a novelty a platform that gamifies the solution development process and was created ad-hoc for the i-Days since the event, traditionally in face-to-face format, could not be done this year in the same way due to Covid-19. Two intensive days in which the participating teams developed and presented their ideas supported by mentors and facilitators who guided them in the construction of their proposals as possible and future real businesses.

" The most important thing is that all the participants become part of the Alumni community EIT-Health , with all the opportunities that it can provide, and also the entrepreneurial ecosystem StartUPV where through UPV Ideas are them provide all the support necessary to continue developing their ideas, ”said the Vice-Rector for Employment and Entrepreneurship of the UPV, José Millet.

For her part, the director of EIT Health Spain, Cristina Bescós congratulated the participants and the organization, hoping that this "is but the first of many opportunities for collaboration between Ideas UPV and EIT Health to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in health "

The general director of Entrepreneurship and Cooperativism of the Generalitat Valenciana, Teresa García , highlighted "the high level of the ideas developed , which shows the existing talent in Valencian universities and the ability of their students to improve society."

Finally, the magnificent rector of the Universitat Politècnica de València, Francisco José Mora , congratulated the participantsall of them winners for the mere fact of having reached the end and developing a solution to a real problem of society in such an important area like health ”and encouraging them to continue developing their projects with the support of the UPV.
