Arquimedes awards the best research projects carried out by undergraduate or master students in one of the following areas of knowledge: Biological and Biomedical Sciences; Experimental, Exact and Environmental Sciences; Social and Human Sciences; and Engineering and Architecture. These awards, granted by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, represent a significant sample of the research that is being carried out in Spanish universities.

Entities such as the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), Fundación ONCE and Fundación Vencer el Cáncer, amont others, have collaborated in the XVII Arquimedes Contest wich has awarded 103,000 € in prizes in addition to 4 fellowships to be made in CSIC centers.
