One more year the Arquímedes Universitary Contest is held, convened by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities through the General Secretariat of Universities and R + D + I, which awards the students of Spanish universities, for the realization of relevant scientific and technological research works in any area of knowledge.

200 projects have been submitted for this edition, of which 25% belong to the area of Social Sciences and Humanities, 20% to Engineering and Architecture, 33% to the area of Biological and Biomedical Sciences and 22% to Experimental Sciences, Exact and Environmental. These works, which reach an excellent scientific quality, are a significant sample of the research that is being carried out in universities of Spain. After an exhaustive evaluation by experts from each scientific field, 25 papers from 20 Spanish universities have been preselected.

The students responsible for these works will participate in the final phase of the Arquimedes Awards contest, which will be held at the Rey Juan Carlos University from November 21 to 23, and must make a presentation of the results obtained in their research to the members of the jury.

This XVII edition has the participation of collaborating entities of the event such as the Higher Council for Scientific Research, the Once Foundation and the Vencer el Cáncer Foundation, which this year the Rey Juan Carlos University joins.
